Bringing Somatics Into Your Workouts
Pre- recorded webinar, watch on your own time.
Explore the intersection of fitness and somatics, and why workouts make a great practice ground for nervous system regulation.
We'll use the lens of a workout to explore the following somatic skills:Â
- Feeling safer in the body: Utilizing orienting and resourcing to stabilize the nervous system's baseline activation.
- Discharging activation: Learning to release both immediate stress responses and stored tension.Â
- Uncoupling activation and threat: Experience sympathetic nervous system activation (the energy used for drive and movement, as well as fight and flight) without the brain interpreting it as a danger or a problem.
- Settling and integration: Developing the ability to move out of high-activation states into a state of "enoughness," satisfaction, and physiological softness.
If you're interested in doing some pre-work (not required!) or learning more before the class, I'd recommend checking out this podcast episode to get a good idea of what we'll be going over and practicing together.
I hope you will check it out.Â
