Bringing Somatics Into Your Workouts

Explore the intersection of fitness and somatics, and why workouts make a great practice ground for nervous system regulation.

We'll use the lens of a workout to explore the following somatic skills:

  • Feeling safer in the body: Utilizing orienting and resourcing to stabilize the nervous system's baseline activation.
  • Discharging activation: Learning to release both immediate stress responses and stored tension.
  • Uncoupling activation and threat: Experience sympathetic nervous system activation (the energy used for drive and movement, as well as fight and flight) without the brain interpreting it as a danger or a problem.
  • Settling and integration: Developing the ability to move out of high-activation states into a state of "enoughness," satisfaction, and physiological softness.

This Webinar is free to attend this time around, and I look forward to sharing it with you. It leads into the Somatic Workouts I'm developing inside of the Mind & Mountain Training Membership this winter (2026/27).

If you're interested in doing some pre-work (not required!) or learning more before the class, I'd recommend checking out this podcast episode to get a good idea of what we'll be going over and practicing together.

I hope to see you there!

Logistics:

  • Thursday, October 22
  • 4pm AK / 6pm MT / 8pm ET
  • On Zoom
  • Free to attend
  • Show up live if you can - I'd appreciate sharing a real-time experience with you. If you can't attend live or want to revisit the material afterward, we'll email a replay to everyone who registers.
