Mind & Mountain Two Week Trial

This is day 5 and day 12 of your free

Mind & Mountain trial!

For those on day 5: Take it slow and focus on form and alignment. If you've never trained with me before consider taking the Mobility Track options

For those on day 12: Week 2 is a repeat of the week 1 workouts. We return to now-familiar movements (we're revisiting the same workouts as last week) and practicing them with a shift in focus.  Because you now have some muscle memory for the exercises, your brain won't have to work as hard at learning and has more availability for other challenges. Repetition is critical for learning, and always an opportunity to go deeper.

I invite you to play with adding grace, speed, intensity, and/or mental calm to this and the rest of the workouts this week.

I hope you enjoy your movement today!

A little more information about Stress Cycles -

Our nervous system perceives stress as a physical threat, even if it's a modern-day stressor like a disturbing headline or an impatient boss. We get a flood of stress chemicals -- cortisol, adrenaline, etc, designed to help us fight or run from the threat -- and since running or fighting doesn't usually apply for modern stress those chemicals don't have a way to be discharged. Even after we've moved on from the stressor, the stress itself is still in our bodies.

So we need new ways to complete the stress cycle! Enter, exercise. Mindful exercise, where you're present with your body sensations while moving, sweating, and using your muscles is the most effective way to complete a stress cycle.

In this workout, we'll use bodyweight exercises & nervous system regulation techniques to move stress out of the body.

You'll need ~40 minutes, a band/strap/hand weights/backpack, and a tall-backed chair (for those who need extra stability).

Always listen to your body and modify however you need to meet your body where it's at today!
